However, due to some serious health problems, the uterus has to be removed surgically. This surgery is called &#8216;Hysterectomy&#8217; in medical language. Here are the main situations in which the uterus has to be removed:<\/p>\n<p>Uterine Fibroids: Fibroids are non-cancerous tumors that form on the walls of the uterus. When they grow in size, they cause severe abdominal pain, chronic and excessive bleeding, and anemia. This causes unbearable pain and heavy bleeding during menstruation.<\/p>\n<p>Uterine Prolapse: When the muscles and ligaments that support the uterus weaken with age or due to multiple births, the uterus can drop into the vagina.
