Constantly grinding your cheek or tongue with sharp teeth, and ill-fitting dentures can cause chronic wounds inside the mouth. Repeatedly making these wounds in the same area over many years can disrupt the natural growth of the cells.<\/p>\n<p>Human Papillomavirus (HPV Infection): Human papillomavirus (especially HPV 16 type), which is spread through sexual contact, has been found to cause cancers in the back of the mouth and throat (Oropharyngeal Cancer).
