Why does diabetes occur? 6 main reasons!

The reasons for diabetes vary from person to person. The 6 main factors are as follows:

1. Genetics
Family history plays a big role in diabetes. If your parents or siblings have diabetes, you are more likely to inherit it.

2. Obesity and lack of exercise
Less physical activity and weight gain cause insulin resistance. When the cells do not respond properly to the insulin produced by the body, blood sugar levels increase.

3. Pancreatic problems
Insulin is produced by the pancreas. When the pancreas is damaged due to infection or other health problems, insulin production stops or decreases (this usually happens in Type 1 Diabetes).

4. Wrong diet
Regular consumption of excessively sweet foods, flour dishes, fast food, and artificial drinks can interfere with the function of insulin. A diet low in fiber increases the risk of diabetes.

5. Stress
When you experience excessive mental stress, the body produces stress hormones such as ‘cortisol’. These inhibit the natural function of insulin and raise blood sugar levels.

6. Age and hormonal changes
The risk of developing diabetes increases with age. In addition, hormonal changes in women during pregnancy (gestational diabetes) can later lead to permanent diabetes.

Pay attention to the main symptoms:
Excessive thirst and hunger.

Frequent urination (especially at night).

Blurred vision.

Slow healing of wounds.

Chronic fatigue and weakness.
