Why does fatty liver occur? The main reasons you should know!

Fatty liver is mainly of two types: alcohol-induced (AFLD) and non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD). The main reasons that lead to this are:

1. Poor diet
Eating excessive amounts of carbohydrates (rice, flour), sugar, and fatty foods can cause fat to accumulate in the liver. Bakery products and fast food are especially the culprits.

2. Obesity and lack of exercise
Weight gain, especially fat accumulation around the abdomen, directly affects the health of the liver. When physical activity decreases, the body stores fat in the liver instead of burning it.

3. Diabetes and insulin resistance
In people with type 2 diabetes and those who do not use insulin properly, blood fat levels increase and it accumulates in the liver.

4. High cholesterol
Increased levels of triglycerides and bad cholesterol in the blood increase the risk of fatty liver.

5. Alcoholism
The toxins produced when alcohol is broken down in the liver damage liver cells and cause fat to accumulate.

6. Rapid weight loss
Rapid weight loss through crash diets can sometimes strain the liver and lead to fatty liver.

Things to keep in mind to prevent fatty liver:
Diet: Eat plenty of vegetables and fruits that contain fiber.

Exercise: Make it a habit to walk briskly for 30-40 minutes every day.

Reduce sweets: Avoid sugar and soft drinks as much as possible
