Eating junk food to gain weight will do more harm than good. Make these changes in your diet to gain weight healthily:
1. Choose high-calorie foods
To gain weight, we need to consume more calories than we burn. For this, eat nutritious and high-calorie foods.
Do: Include bananas, dates, nuts, almonds, and peanuts (cashew nuts) in your diet every day.
2. Eat 5-6 meals a day
Instead of eating large meals at once, eating small meals more often at intervals will help ease digestion and keep calories in the body.
Tip: In addition to the three main meals, make a habit of having healthy snacks (for example, peanuts or fruit) in the morning and evening.
3. Protein shakes and milk
Protein is essential for muscle growth. Shakes with milk and fruit are the easiest way for thin people to gain weight.
Do: Drink a glass of milk every night before going to bed. Adding a little ghee or dates to this will give double the effect.
4. Ghee and jaggery
A mixture of ghee and jaggery is also said in Ayurveda to make the body fat.
Do: Eating a spoonful of pure ghee and a little jaggery after lunch will help increase digestion and increase weight.
5. Exercise and sleep
It is a misconception that those who want to gain weight should not exercise. Simple exercises are necessary for muscle growth.
Tip: Sleep for at least 8 hours every day. It is during sleep that the body’s cells grow and the body gains weight.
2 important things to note:
Control your water intake: Do not drink water right before meals. This will make you feel full and reduce your food intake.
Potatoes: Including starchy foods like potatoes and yams in your diet can help you gain weight.
