Uncontrolled blood sugar levels can affect other organs in the body. The following are effective ways to help reduce sugar levels:
1. Fenugreek Water
This is the best way recommended by Ayurveda to control diabetes. The fiber in fenugreek slows down the absorption of sugar into the blood.
How to do it: Soak a spoonful of fenugreek in water overnight, drink the water in the morning and chew the fenugreek.
2. Change in diet (Low GI Foods)
Choose foods with a low glycemic index (GI).
Use wholemeal rice, ragi, and oats instead of white rice.
Include plenty of vegetables in your diet. Especially papaya and yam help in insulin production.
3. Cinnamon
Cinnamon has the ability to increase the insulin sensitivity of cells. This helps in the rapid delivery of glucose from the blood to the cells. Drink a pinch of cinnamon powder in tea or water every day.
4. Lemon and Gooseberry
Gooseberry, which is rich in vitamin C, can help stimulate the pancreas. Eating it with gooseberry juice and a little turmeric powder is very good for reducing sugar.
5. The importance of exercise
Exercise is essential for the body’s muscles to use sugar as energy. Make a habit of walking briskly for 30-40 minutes every day. This will improve insulin function.
Things to strictly avoid:
Sweets: Sugar, soft drinks, and sweets.
Flour: Flour dishes like gourd and bread can quickly increase blood sugar.
Mental stress: Stress hormones can cause sugar levels to rise
