Many of our daily habits unknowingly damage brain cells and affect intelligence and memory. They are mainly as follows:
Skipping breakfast: After a long night’s sleep, the brain does not get the necessary glucose, which slows down the functioning of cells.
Insomnia: Not getting proper sleep disrupts the process of eliminating toxins from the brain and damages memory.
Excessive use of sweets: Excessive consumption of sugar prevents the absorption of nutrients in the brain and affects intellectual development.
Overeating: Eating more food can cause hardening of the arteries in the brain (Arteriosclerosis), which can reduce mental capacity.
Smoking: Smoking is a major cause of brain shrinkage (Brain Shrinkage) and diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
Sleeping with your head covered: Covering your head while sleeping causes carbon dioxide to enter the body and reduces oxygen levels. This is harmful to the brain.
Air pollution: The brain is the body’s largest consumer of oxygen. Breathing polluted air can reduce brain function.
Not giving your brain rest when you are sick: Working or studying hard when you have a fever or other illness can overload the brain and cause damage.
Lack of thinking skills: Not engaging in activities that stimulate the brain (for example, reading, puzzles) can cause brain cells to die.
Not talking to others: Engaging in intelligent conversations helps the brain grow. Loneliness and decreased speech can slow down brain function.
