Do you experience severe burning and pain when urinating? 5 main causes

Burning and pain when urinating can often be a symptom of some internal infection or other problem in the body. The main causes are:

Urinary tract infection (UTI): The most common cause of urinary tract infection is a bacterial infection. It is more common in women. Infections in the bladder or urethra can cause severe burning and pain when urinating.

Dehydration: Decreased water content in the body can cause urine to become more concentrated. This increases the acidity of the urine and causes a burning sensation when urinating. This problem is more common in summer.

Kidney Stones: Stones that form in the kidney or ureter cause urinary obstruction and rub against the inner walls of the urethra. This causes severe pain and burning when urinating.

Unhygienic conditions and chemicals: Poor hygiene in the genital area can lead to infections. Additionally, using strong soaps, scents, and lotions in the genital area can irritate the skin and cause burning during urination.

Prostatitis (in men): In men, inflammation or infection of the prostate gland (prostatitis) can cause urinary retention and urinary incontinence. This puts pressure on the urethra, which causes pain.
