Gas problems are usually caused by changes in diet and digestive disorders. These are often caused by habits that are considered trivial. The main reasons are:
Eating habits: Eating food quickly without chewing, which causes a lot of air to enter the body (Aerophagia). This causes bloating and belching. Eating food while chewing and drinking drinks through a straw can also cause the same problem.
Foods that are difficult to digest: Foods such as nuts, beans, cabbage, and onions produce excessive gas in some people. Gas is produced when the complex carbohydrates in these foods are broken down by bacteria in the large intestine.
Lactose intolerance: Some people have a reduced ability to digest milk or milk products. When such people drink milk, their stomach fills with gas and they experience diarrhea and discomfort.
Carbonated drinks and sweets: The carbon dioxide in soda and soft drinks directly causes gas problems. Also, foods with artificial sweeteners can cause indigestion.
Health problems and medications: Gas is formed when food is digested too slowly in people with constipation. Problems like gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and acid reflux can also cause this. The use of some antibiotics can also affect digestion.
