Migraines are a type of severe pain that can last for hours or days, unlike regular headaches. Although the exact cause is not known, some things can make migraines worse:
Hormonal changes: Changes in the hormone estrogen in women are a major cause of migraines. Migraine attacks are more likely to occur just before menstruation and during pregnancy.
Mental stress and lack of sleep: Excessive stress, workload, and changes in sleep patterns can cause chemical changes in the brain and cause migraine pain.
Dietary changes: Skipping meals for a long time, excessive sweets, caffeine (tea, coffee), and chocolates can cause migraines in some people. Artificial sweeteners and cheese can also cause this.
Strong light and noise: Bright sunlight, screen glare from mobile phones and computers, excessive noise, and strong odors such as perfume can quickly trigger migraine pain.
Weather changes: Sudden changes in humidity, extreme heat, or wind can trigger migraines.
