Anemia or anemia is a condition in which the number of red blood cells or hemoglobin in the blood decreases. This hinders the process of delivering oxygen to the body’s cells. The main causes are:
Iron Deficiency: This is the most common cause of anemia. When the body does not get enough iron from the diet to make hemoglobin, anemia develops.
Vitamin Deficiency: Vitamin B12 and folate (folic acid) are essential for the production of red blood cells. Their deficiency causes a decrease in the number of blood cells.
Blood Loss: The body loses blood without realizing it due to excessive bleeding during menstruation, piles, and stomach ulcers.
Chronic diseases: Diseases such as kidney disease, cancer, and AIDS can affect the body’s ability to produce new red blood cells.
Bone marrow problems: Blood cells are produced in the bone marrow. If the bone marrow is affected by infections or other diseases, the blood count may decrease.
