Do you see lumps anywhere on your body? 5 reasons you shouldn’t ignore them

Lumps found in various parts of the body are not always dangerous. However, it is important to recognize what they are. The main causes of lumps are:

Lipoma: These are soft lumps that are formed by the accumulation of fat under the skin. They can feel like they are moving when touched. Usually, painless lipomas are not dangerous, but if they grow in size, it is a good idea to see a doctor.

Cysts: These are fluid- or air-filled blisters. They can be caused by blockage of the oil glands in the skin (Sebaceous Cyst) or ingrown hairs. Sometimes they can be filled with pus and cause pain.

Swollen Lymph Nodes: When there is an infection, the lymph nodes, which are part of the body’s immune system, swell. This is usually found in the neck, armpits, and groin. These disappear on their own when the infection clears.

Fibroadenoma: These are tumors found mainly in the breasts of women. They are caused by hormonal changes. In most cases, these are non-cancerous (benign) tumors.

Malignant Tumors: Some tumors may be caused by uncontrolled cell growth. These may be a sign of cancer. Special attention should be paid to tumors that are not severe, painful, but grow rapidly.
