Are the kidneys failing? 5 main reasons behind kidney failure

The kidneys are the cleaning plants that filter and remove waste from the body. But often our bad habits silently destroy this organ. The main reasons are:

Uncontrolled diabetes: The most important cause of kidney disease is uncontrolled diabetes. High blood sugar levels damage the delicate blood vessels in the kidneys and disrupt the filtration process (Diabetic Nephropathy).

High blood pressure (Hypertension): When blood pressure increases, the blood vessels to the kidneys harden and narrow. This reduces blood flow to the kidneys and gradually causes their function to stop.

Excessive use of painkillers: Taking painkillers (NSAIDs) for a long time without a doctor’s prescription can cause serious damage to the kidneys. This can lead to a condition called ‘analgesic nephropathy’.

Dehydration and urinary tract infections: Not drinking enough water can lead to kidney stones and waste buildup. Additionally, chronic urinary tract infections (UTIs) can spread to the kidneys and damage them if left untreated.

Poor diet and excessive salt intake: High salt intake increases blood pressure and puts an extra strain on the kidneys. Overly processed foods and artificial drinks are a challenge to kidney health.
